Overview

SoD Research Helper is a browser extension that analyzes Amazon search result pages locally in your browser. We take your privacy seriously.

Data Collection

We do not collect any data.

  • No personal information is collected

  • No browsing history is tracked

  • No analytics or telemetry data is sent

  • No cookies are set by the extension

  • No user accounts are required

How the Extension Works

The extension operates entirely within your browser:

  1. When you visit an Amazon search results page, the extension reads the visible product data from the page

  2. For BSR (Best Seller Rank) data, the extension fetches individual product detail pages from Amazon — the same pages you could visit manually

  3. For keyword suggestions, the extension queries Amazon’s public autocomplete API — the same API used when you type in the Amazon search box

  4. All data processing happens locally in your browser

  5. No data is sent to any external server operated by us

Data Storage

The extension stores only your feature preferences (toggle settings) using Chrome’s built-in storage API. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted externally. All scraped product data exists only in memory during the current browser session and is discarded when the tab is closed.

Third-Party Services

The extension may interact with the following services, only when actively used:

  • Amazon (same domain): Product detail pages are fetched to retrieve BSR data. Amazon’s autocomplete API is queried for keyword suggestions. These are the same requests your browser makes when you browse Amazon normally.

  • SoD KI-Toolbox (optional): The „Analyze in Toolbox“ button opens ki.success-on-demand.com and copies data to your clipboard. No data is transmitted automatically — you paste it manually.

No data is sold, shared, or transmitted to any other third-party service.

Permissions Explained

  • activeTab: Required to read the current Amazon page when the popup is opened

  • clipboardWrite: Required to copy analysis results (Markdown export) to your clipboard

  • scripting: Required to inject the content script if it wasn’t loaded automatically

  • storage: Required to save your feature toggle preferences locally on your device

Chrome Web Store Compliance

SoD Research Helper adheres to Chrome Web Store User Data policies:

  • Data is used solely to provide core functionality

  • Data is not sold or transferred for advertising purposes

  • Data is not used for behavioral profiling or targeting

  • Data is not used for creditworthiness or lending decisions

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the „Last updated“ date above.

Data Removal
